On a perfect fall day, a sweet midwestern girl and a Texas gentleman were married at The Westin La Paloma. Kristin and Justin are sweet, down-to-earth people so we wanted to make sure their wedding represented them in the best possible ways. Their ultimate goal was to provide all of their out-of-town guests with great food and drinks, an awesome dance party and a little taste of the desert.
Inspired by Kristin’s dress, we kept the overall decor concept simple… soft, feminine and approachable. We set the tone with a gorgeous stationery suite with textured paper, torn edges and watercolor greenery by Brie Dumais Designs. Kristin and Justin were married under a large mesquite tree with the gorgeous Catalina Mountains as the backdrop. The reception took place inside the ballroom, but we wanted to try to keep it as “natural” as possible, so we used dark wood chairs and a few wood farm tables with garlands. Other tables were draped with neutral tan linens and low, lush florals with taper candles. One of my favorite details of the wedding day were the table numbers. Our sweet bride and groom wanted a DIY activity to do together so we came up with the idea to have them do their own burnt wood finish and table numbers. They complemented the tables perfectly.
It was an absolute honor and joy to watch these two get married and I’m so thankful to have played a small role in their love story.
